Golf course
Kimberley, British Columbia
Golf has been played at Kimberley since 1924, and the present semi-private 18 is a par-71 parkland course of roughly 6,400 yards laid out on undulating ground between the St. Mary River and the town. Huge larch, cedar and ponderosa pine frame the fairways and make position off the tee matter more than raw length, while the small, rolling greens punish the wrong side of the hole. The Purcell and Rocky Mountain ranges stand on either horizon, which is why it is regularly called one of the prettiest courses in the Kootenays. It traded for years under the Purcell Golf name before reverting to Kimberley Golf Club.
Kimberley Golf Club is one of 4 golf courses in Kimberley with live tee times on TeeClub, and one of 202 British Columbia courses across the province. 3 more courses in nearby towns sit within a 50 km drive — the closest is St. Eugene Golf Resort, 16 km away.
